THE 5 SENSE ORGANS

I guess anyone reading this should already know the 5 sense organs except you are iti boribo (dullard). They are the eyes, ears, tongue, skin, and nose.

Whenever I ponder on the 5 sensory organs I consider them as the gateway to mySELF. The wholeness/quality of any man can be accounted by the activities of these sense organs.

As Christians it is quite important that we have our sense organs in check mate because they determine our spiritual position.

As we advance more into civilization – there is a subconscious attempt to induce our sensory organs to engage in activities that are not healthy with our SELF. A lot of evil, disease, mishap, broken marriages, immorality would have been curtailed if only folks had their stuffs in check.

What we read, see (EYES); listens to (EARS), taste and speak (TONGUE), feel (SKIN) and smell (NOSE) affects us morally, spiritually and otherwise.

As Christians we must be careful with what we import into ourSELVES through our sense organs. There are so many allures of the WORLD that suites our CARNAL man but detrimental to our SPIRIT man. We ought to be actively cautious.

There are many verses in the Bible that relates with what we do with our sense organs including gluttony which we might not see as anything. But generally 1 Corinthians 10:31 admonishes us thus “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God”.

Brother David in the Bible understood the challenges of allowing our sense organs to be on the ‘loose’ when He prayed “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditations of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength”.

Truthfully its difficult to keep our sense organs in check but then that’s why we’ve got the Holy Spirit. These things can’t have dominion over us if we walk in the Spirit. You get?

So I think I should ponder on whether the activities of my sense organs conforms to the will of God henceforth. I think you should do the same.
